Our client, the British Virgin Islands, called one day and asked us for help in devising a solution for their Tourism Board. The Director told us the island needed more marketing intelligence, in particular more timely visitor statistics information and better demographic information. He also told us there was another competitive solution that would require a significant monetary investment using older technology and an unfriendly statistical analytics module add-on. He also said it would require human double entry data processing, because he was told by the vendor’s Phd-technologist that it was the only reliable way to collect data. [The technologist even had an impressive, but inaccurate paper, to prove it. The real agenda was the foreign -USA based company had access to cheap labor and could make a lot of money on processing].
After listening to the BVI’s needs, we devised an equally accurate, more automated solution that would save the BVI significant money, better meet their needs, and would outperform the other solution. We devised a solution that uses OCR technology (intelligent automated document processing) integrated with our CRM platform, marketing and campaign tracking, and real time reporting system. The solution became known as Travel Bureau.
